Current Ajaxium version is 2.0.4

Version 2.0.4 brings you:

  • Redirect method - accessible from ASP.NET pages and custom HTTP Handlers.
  • An important bugfix to StateServer, SQLServer and Custom session-state modes support.

Version 2.0.3

Version 2.0.3, released on January 10, 2007 has the following improvements:

  • Ajaxium_OnBeforeRequest function - This member function is called by the client-side library to cause an event to fire before an AJAX-request occurs.

Version 2.0.2

Released on October 10, 2006.

  • New caching prevention policy - which increases compatibility with all browsers which do cache every AJAX-request (like Opera 9, IE7, FireFox with caching plugins, etc.).
  • Support for DEFLATE response compression method.
  • ASP.NET 2.0 GridView control support improved - CommandFields with button type set to Image or Button do not throw exceptions anymore.

Version 2.0.1

This version of Ajaxium released on October 5, 2006 had minor improvements and bug fixes.

version 2.0

The first major update since versions 1.x were released! With version 2.0:

  • You gain access to the easiest possible integration - what you need is just to add ONLY ONE LINE into your ASP.NET codebehind file to make your entire ASP.NET page AJAX-enabled. If you prefer to use the designer - just drag Ajaxium Processor from the toolbox and that's it - job is done! Integration has never been at once so easy and flexible.
  • You don't need to use Ajaxium Panels - Ajaxium automatically optimizes content updates.
  • Ajaxium performs a two-level compression of each AJAX response. This unique feature not only saves a HUGE AMOUNT OF WEBSITE TRAFFIC (up to 80%) but also drastically reduces update delays taking the user's experience to an unbeatable height.
  • Ajaxium preserves controls' focus during AJAX-based updates to increase page accessibility. Our new, unique solution works even if the visitor's browser lacks required functionality (i.e. when all other components fail). What is more - Ajaxium provides the same set of controls activation functions for ASP.NET 1.x as the one available in ASP.NET 2.0.
  • Timers. Ajaxium can update the page automatically with a user-defined interval. And just as well you can consume on timer events and distinguish them from the user's actions.
  • Loading Notification Panels -- without using proprietary controls. Just set one property of any ASP.NET panel, and it will start indicating the application loading state.
  • Improved JavaScript API - you can now cancel timer-based updates from the client-side code and get access to a richer choice of cross-browser functions, etc.

Version 1.5

If you have used previous versions of Ajaxium, the following information will come in handy to learn more about this version and get you up and running right away:

  • Intelligent Performance Advisor
Starting from version 1.5, Ajaxium comes with an Intelligent Performance Advisor. This built-in tool has been designed to help you eliminate inefficient content updates and make integration and development jobs easier.

Ajaxium 1.3.1

This version of Ajaxium released on July 22, 2006 has the following improvements:

  • An update for clients who use the Integration via Aggregation scheme to enable AJAX for their existing projects.

Ajaxium 1.3

This version of Ajaxium released on July 15, 2006 has the following improvements:

  • The RegisterAjaxUpdateScript method
This method has been added to the Page and Processor classes to make day-today work easier and relieve developers from the need of dealing with unexpected fallbacks to ASP.NET.
  • Compatibility with the Prototype JavaScript library
In some cases the Prototype library modifies the default behavior of built-in JavaScript objects and causes compatibility problems. Starting with version 1.3, fallback to ASP.NET in FireFox and Safari browsers does not occur anymore, and from now on you can safely use both Ajaxium and the Prototype library on the same page.

Version 1.2.6

This version of Ajaxium released on July 02, 2006 has the following improvements:

  • Non-updateable panels
Now you can set the Updateable property of any Ajaxium Panel to false to prevent AJAX updates of that panel. Common usage scenario of this property includes hidden AJAX requests during user input (see SmartFilter sample and description of the Panel.Updateable property).
  • RegisterAjaxUpdateScript scripts can now be applied to each panel separately, not just to the whole page
Starting with version 1.2.5, each Ajaxium Panel has its RegisterAjaxUpdateScript method. In case any panel is updated on the client, Ajaxium client-side code executes all the scripts you need (see the description of the Panel.OnAjaxUpdate property for details).
  • Improved integration with ASP.NET 2.0 menu control
Starting with version 1.0 Ajaxium supports ASP.NET 2.0 menu control. Starting with version 1.2.5 Ajaxium automatically detects and handles all menus placed on the page.
  • Improved support for page-to-page transfer from client-side JavaScript
Now you can smoothly navigate from one ASP.NET page to another with Ajaxium_Navigate function of the client-side JavaScript API. This function performs hidden AJAX requests and updates content just as well as if the server side transfer were used.
  • Possibility of integration via aggregation
If you're using a third-party ASP.NET framework and all page classes are already derived from the class other than System.Web.UI.Page, you can still add AJAX capabilities to your project. Just perform all the steps described in the "Integrating Ajaxium via Aggregation" section.
  • Better handling of session expirations
Previous versions of Ajaxium handled session expirations on the server side. From now on Ajaxium is capable to detect whether the session timeout occurs before performing AJAX requests, so a fallback to classic ASP.NET is performed with no prior requests to the server. After a single postback, Ajaxium restores the session state and pages continue to work in the AJAX-enabled mode.
  • Function Ajaxium_MoveElement
As part of the Ajaxium's client-side cross-browser API, it now automatically converts element coordinates to pixels if necessary.
  • Starting with version 1.2.5 there is no need to register Ajaxium's http module in the Web.config file.
